It is a monumental moment in the 24-year history of the label. Celebrating the first physical release in public performance for Quincy Nicholson Nothing and no one perhaps symbolizes the label’s rebirth for a new generation better than this TechnoPrimitive EP from Quincy Nicholson. He is the son of Anthony Nicholson, house legend, and Clairaudience mainstay. He was brought up in the Chicago house music scene, and began working as a percussionist on his dad’s records at the age of 11; since then he’s become a highly accomplished sound engineer, producer, and performer. He DJs across multiple formats including EDM, top 40, and hip hop; and for years has played a role on Chi-town’s hip-hop and streetwear fashion scenes. These influences are woven into the fabric of the four wonderfully diverse tracks on TechnoPrimitive EP, demonstrating a mastery of different styles that lends truth to the audacious title.
